Communicate widely across Parish concerning NP, raise awareness
Initial collection of data for evidence base.
Review and analyse evidence collected
Identify main issues to allow decisions on working groups required and further more detailed surveys. First pass at objectives and vision statement.
Ongoing communication engagement (aims, content, detail)
Progress to Consultation – Phase 2 – detailed household questionnaire

NP – Key Messages

NP based on evidence collected from the community
It is more than just housing
Development proposals must conform with NP proposals
NP is used to make decisions on planning applications
It carries real weight and becomes part of district plan
Helps to protect and create open space, reserves, allotments, sports pitches, play areas , parks and gardens
Develop transport and access proposals
Must get +50% at referendum

Data Collection

Forms to be completed. Separate form for business Online through www.snartsurvey.co.uk
Broad topic areas viz housing (private/affordable/size/concentration), traffic/environment(traffic/relief road/air quality/countryside/heritage), shops and business(shops/restaurants/other businesses/employment), getting around – access and facilities(pedestrian/cycling/public transport/disabilities), local services(healthcare/education/library/sports/open spaces)
Degree of importance of topic – not/quite/very/vitally. Further comments section
post-it comments. Stick on board or pin on map.
Schools – children drawing
Sample size – at least 3% of parish population (250+)
Analysis of forms, identify main issues.
Produce Report to decide on topic groups required and first pass on objectives to be considered in depth within each topic group.
